Alex Caceres captured his first three-fight win streak under the UFC banner earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 29, 2020) at UFC Vegas 8 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “Bruce Leeroy” stopped Octagon newcomer Austin Springer via first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Despite multiple opponent changes, Caceres came out ready to rock in this “Prelims” showdown. Springer was able to land some good whipping leg kicks in the early going, but “Bruce Leeroy” was simply too sharp with his hands, movement, and leg attacks. As Springer tied to change levels and shoot for a takedown Caceres was able to defend nicely and immediately transitioned to the rear-naked choke finish.

With this performance, Caceres captures his third win in a row at 145 pounds and finally looks like he can make a push towards the top 15. The kid has been fighting for the promotion for nearly 10 years and certainly deserves a big break based on his recent outings.
